Improving.

Not going to school. Learning by experience. There's a distinct difference.

Everybody learns from their past. It haunts them. There are countless regrets. We change over time, become softer and sweeter, become patient.
But it's learning.

I've seen too many memes of "Americans are horrible because of their past" or "Look at how miserable our past was; wouldn't you just want to leave the country?"

Shut up.

Hitler completely believed that people who weren't blonde and blue-eyed were corrupt. He wasn't being mean. He wasn't walking around picking on people. It is what he knew. Unfortunately, it was the most wrong and corrupt knowledge.
Please don't misread this. I am not excusing him and  I will never excuse what he did, but think about your annoying-13-year-old self who thought they knew everything and think about yourself now; you are more mature, you know how to handle a job or talk to people and bite your tongue when somebody does you wrong.

Think about our planet. What we, as a human race, have learned. We're not perfect, not one bit. But we are maturing, as a planet.

So the next time you wanna say "oh those people are mindless" or something, stop it.
Stop insulting yourself.
Stop insulting others.
Stop insulting your past.

After all we are only improving as a planet.

Get to Work.

Get to work.
Throughout time, people have portrayed heaven as a paradise resting on top of a cloud, where angels play harps and sit around, being fanned while eating grapes.
Let me express how much I  would dread death of that was the heaven I was going to.
In this lifetime, many people struggle to get by while working full time, only to lose their pay checks instantly to the needs of rent, groceries, family needs, and a college education. Working is hard, seems never ending, and causes depression, can cause serious injuries, and can destroy families.

But working is what we were made to do.

In Richard G.Scott's talk, "For Peace at Home", he states "In the premortal life you proved to be valiant, obedient, and pure. There you worked hard to develop talents and capacities to prepare yourselves to face mortality with courage, dignity, honor, and success."

In our past life, we worked. In our current life we must work to support our families, to spread the gospel, and we serve to spread Heavenly Father's love. In our future life, we are to work to bring people to Heavenly Father's kingdom and to have our own worlds.

We are made to work.

Think about it; we have two arms filled with muscles that are able to lift heavy loads, we have two legs that can support our weight and help us move around. We are built "in the image of our Heavenly Father" so that we can work.

So what does that mean for us? I didn't write this to promote capitalism or whine about people who can't seem to do anything with their life after high school or college, but I did it to motivate myself. If I'm supposed to always work, what do I need to do to prepare now? I, personally, need to become healthier, always share the gospel, and always work.

Never ask to help. Just work.
