Everybody learns from their past. It haunts them. There are countless regrets. We change over time, become softer and sweeter, become patient.
But it's learning.
I've seen too many memes of "Americans are horrible because of their past" or "Look at how miserable our past was; wouldn't you just want to leave the country?"
Shut up.
Hitler completely believed that people who weren't blonde and blue-eyed were corrupt. He wasn't being mean. He wasn't walking around picking on people. It is what he knew. Unfortunately, it was the most wrong and corrupt knowledge.
Please don't misread this. I am not excusing him and I will never excuse what he did, but think about your annoying-13-year-old self who thought they knew everything and think about yourself now; you are more mature, you know how to handle a job or talk to people and bite your tongue when somebody does you wrong.
Think about our planet. What we, as a human race, have learned. We're not perfect, not one bit. But we are maturing, as a planet.
So the next time you wanna say "oh those people are mindless" or something, stop it.
Stop insulting yourself.
Stop insulting others.
Stop insulting your past.
After all we are only improving as a planet.
